Harm Reduction & Community Engagement Coordinator
Vanessa-Renee Mical (she/her) brings a passion for equity to her work as the Harm Reduction and Community Engagement Coordinator, having strong beliefs in the efficacy of the harm reduction philosophy and the right for all people to have equal information about the various paths to recovery and wellness. She studied sociology at CUNY Hunter College, and came to Partnerships with a 10 year track record of working with developmentally and intellectually disabled adults, and decades of experience as a local community activist. Vanessa is a St. George native who has come full circle from a Curtis High School student to educating current students about overdose prevention. Outside of work, you may find Vanessa riding her bicycle across the five boroughs, performing at open mics for poets, or walking one of her many canine friends as she embraces the role of resident dog sitter among her beloved friend group.
